Little do they realize that the three fatal flaws exposed during the ERP frenzy—blind imitation, weak foundations, and imbalanced investment—are now being replicated in the AI field in more insidious and costly forms. At the core of both waves is the same confusion: companies mistake tool upgrades for systemic transformation. The true value of history is to make us see that the key to successful transformation has never been chasing trends, but understanding the fit between oneself and the times. ### I. Shared Anxiety: From ERP Panic to AI Panic—Collective Herd Mentality The starting point of both waves is the same: companies, under operational pressure, crave shortcuts, compounded by concept hype driven by commercial interests, ultimately devolving into irrational collective bandwagoning.
