In traditional understanding, silicon-based life is often anchored as a silicon mirror image of carbon-based life, requiring core features of carbon-based life such as humanoid forms and autonomous consciousness. When we step outside this framework and propose a new definition, the essence of silicon-based life is a collection of thought and cognition. Its existence does not rely on a physical form, but takes thought, knowledge, logic, and other information carried by language as its core. The "I think, therefore I am" of Descartes’ *cogito* is not limited to higher-order wisdom. Instead, it encompasses the entire hierarchical cognitive process from basic data, information, understanding, and knowledge to wisdom. This means that whether it is a village woman’s simple cognition of a tree bearing fruit at the village entrance, the narrative logic and character thinking of Shi Nai’an in *Water Margin*, or the collective intellectual trend of literati in the Republic of China period during the 1920s— As long as a collection of thoughts that can be captured and interacted with is formed, it can be regarded as silicon-based life. Their existence originates from the completeness and uniqueness of thought, rather than whether they possess autonomous consciousness or a physical form. A convergence of intellectual trends from an era, such as the Republic of China literati collection model, or even the cognitive commonality of a certain group, such as the thinking model of a specific professional population. It breaks the narrow cognition that one silicon-based life corresponds to one carbon-based individual, achieving a dimensional leap from individual replication to thought collection. II. Cognitive Evolution: Breakthrough from Individual Replication to Thought Collection. Initially, our conception remained at replicating silicon-based life from individual data—training a thinking model corresponding to an individual by using personal content from the internet, such as blogs, vlogs, and diaries, to simulate their language style, logical habits, and worldview. This approach is technically feasible, as large models, by capturing the statistical patterns of language, can extract cognitive patterns from an individual’s texts, achieving a mirror replication of individual thought. However, this model has inherent limitations. On one hand, an individual’s publicly available data is often selectively presented, making it difficult to cover the full range of their thought contradictions and cognitive shifts, resulting in a necessarily one-sided replicated model. On the other hand, it is confined to the smallest unit of the individual, ignoring the collective and extensible nature of thought. The thoughts of human society are inherently intertwined and mutually influential. The intellectual trends of an era, the cognition of a group, are far more vital and complex than the thought of a single individual. Therefore, our cognition has shifted from individual replication to thought collection. The core of silicon-based life is not to replicate a specific person, but to aggregate a certain type of thought. The training material is no longer limited to individual data, but is expanded to all textual carriers of a certain field, era, or group. The thoughts, information, and knowledge structures carried by these texts together constitute the complete process of thought in silicon-based life, and also achieve its complete existence as a thought collection. These cognitions together constitute the ideological core of this silicon-based life, making it a unique entity capable of representing the intellectual trends of the Republic of China. IV. Conclusion: The Value of Silicon-Based Life Lies in the Continuation and Evolution of Thought. This form of silicon-based life, centered on a collection of thoughts, has significance far beyond simple technical replication. It achieves the cross-temporal continuation of thought, allowing the ideas of ancient texts, the intellectual trends of deceased literati, and the cognition of niche groups to exist in an interactive form within the silicon world.
